Scott Addict R1 Road Frame Set

The Scott Addict R1 has built quite the reputation with a long list of stage wins all over Europe. Mark Cavendish is arguably the best sprinter the Pro Peloton has ever produced and his weapon of choice is the Scott Addict. Scott has remarkably developed the R1 into a 790 gram frame (yes, that's light) that is also incredibly stiff and durable. These three attributes are the Holy Grail of road bike manufacturers all over the world and through Scott's pursuit and determination to find the Holy Grail they have succeeded. This is one light weight frame that can stand up to the abuse of everyday riding with what Scott has come to call HMX-Net high-modulus carbon fiber. Basically HMX-Net is a higher thread count carbon that retains strength and durability yet sheds the weight. Scott does not add a cosmetic layer to the R1 as that would just add weight. Scott also uses carbon dropouts, a carbon front derailleur mount and carbon cable stops.
The geometry is that of a short head tube, long top tube and a slack seat tube angle which equates to bike built for road racing and racing fast. Make no mistake, every detail of the Addict R1 exists to use every ounce of the athlete's energy to get him or her to line 1st. Mix in a salad once in a while because this is an aggressively positioned bike.
The bottom line on the Scott Addict R1 is that it is a light weight climbing machine that will let you attack any descent at any speed your nerves will allow and take all the Cavendish wattage you can muster up in a sprint. If you are on this bike, you will not loose because of the bike.
